What it costs

What it costs, before you book

One price for your first appointment, stated here, not after a form.

New patients only, at the Redfern clinic. Initial Podiatry Consult, 30 minutes, including the gait assessment, the 3D foot scan and hands on treatment where it is appropriate. No referral needed. $0 gap applies where your private health extras cover includes podiatry and you have limit remaining, which only your fund can confirm. $99 applies otherwise. We accept all health funds. No expiry date is set on this price, and it is current at 11 August 2026.

Whether your cover applies depends on your fund and your extras limit, so check your card or call your fund and ask what you have left on podiatry. If you have no cover, the first appointment is $99 and nothing is added to it on the day.

Ask us for follow-up fees when you call, or at the end of your first appointment. You book one appointment at a time. You are never signed on to a plan unless you ask for one.

Your first appointment

What happens in your first 30 minutes

We work out what is driving the pain, start treatment where it is appropriate, and map out your next few weeks.

30 minutes

What happens in the room

  1. 01We watch you move.A gait assessment, on your feet, at the speed the pain shows up.
  2. 02We scan your feet in 3D.The scan is the record we prescribe from, and you can see it on screen.
  3. 03We treat, where it is appropriate.Hands on podiatry treatment in the same appointment.
  4. 04You leave with a plan.A personalised recovery plan covering your first few weeks, not a leaflet.

Before you arrive

Three things that make the 30 minutes worth more.

The shoes you train in, including the worn out pair

Any scans or reports you have

The two or three questions you actually want answered

Written down beats remembered.

Clinician taking a 3D scan of a patient's foot on a tablet
The 3D scan is the record any orthotic is prescribed from.
Clinician applying rigid strapping tape to a patient's foot
Hands on treatment in the same appointment, where it is appropriate.

Where it is clinically appropriate, your appointment may also include VALD performance testing, shockwave therapy or laser therapy. David will tell you in the room whether any of those apply to you.

Questions most patients ask

How much is the first appointment?

$0 gap if you have eligible private health cover, or $99 if you do not. That is the 30 minute Initial Podiatry Consult, and it covers the assessment, the 3D scan and treatment on the day where it is appropriate. New patients only. Ask us about follow-up fees when you call.

How soon can I get in?

We are open Monday to Friday, until 7pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The booking page shows our real diary, so the honest answer to “how soon” is whatever you can see there. If nothing suits, call (02) 7252 4590.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. You can book a podiatry appointment yourself. If your GP has sent a referral letter, bring it, because the history saves time.

Will I have to stop running?

David will tell you at the first appointment, once he has seen how you move and what is loading the sore tissue. Sometimes training changes shape rather than stopping. Nobody can answer that honestly before assessing you, so we will not pretend to here.

Do you take my health fund?

We accept all health funds. With eligible private health cover there is no gap on your first appointment. What your fund pays after that depends on your extras cover and your remaining limit, which your fund can tell you in one phone call.

Where do I park near Redfern station?

The clinic is at Shop J/88 Regent St, Redfern NSW 2016. Our Google Business Profile lists free street parking. Open the map link on this page for door to door directions, and give yourself a few minutes to find a space on Regent Street.
